LONGEVITY TIPS
Most turbochargers fail because of worn bearings caused by poor lubrication or excessive heat. Make sure a turbocharged engine never has sludge in the oil. Also, after extended driving, allow the engine to idle for about one minute. This allows oil to lubricate and cool the turbocharger before shutting off the engine. If the engine is shut off right away, extremely hot turbocharger surfaces could bake a poor quality oil into a sticky residue.
